ECE Student Services
The ECE undergraduate office (A.V. Williams 2429) is the primary contact point for all questions regarding courses, registrations, and degree requirements and college and university policy. The office is open every day, 8:30-12:00 and 1:00-4:30 and staff will be able to answer your questions or refer you to the appropriate resources.

A. James Clark School of Engineering
The Student Affairs office provides a variety of services to assist students in their academic development. Individual advising is provided for many student-related issues including course selection, schedule planning, understanding University policy, career choices, as well as social and personal adjustment to the University.
In addition to individual counseling, the office clears students for graduation, evaluates transfer credits, provides orientation services to new students, and is instrumental in helping students process administrative issues. - Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering (1134 Engineering classroom building)
The Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering (CMSE) is committed to increasing the enrollment retention and graduation rates of African American, Hispanic American, and Native American students majoring in science and engineering. The Center provides services to support students through their academic career, including academic advising, tutorial services and financial assistance. CMSE also runs summer programs for pre-college students. All services are free of charge to undergraduate students and can be utilized on a walk-in or appointment basis. The A. James Clark School of Engineering offers a variety of scholarships for both incoming and returning engineering students. Financial awards are based on merit and/or need. Students should complete an application (http://www.eng.umd.edu/organizations/osp/Scholarships/) by March 15 of each year. - Women in Engineering (1131 Engineering Classroom Building)
The Women in Engineering Program is dedicated to increasing the enrollment, retention and graduation of women students in the College, as well as identifying and addressing the needs of this population. The program is designed to encourage and assist women students in becoming successful engineers. Services offered to women students include research and teaching fellowships, professional mentoring programs, workshops and career support. - Engineering Co-op & Career Services (1137 Engineering Classroom Building)
The A. James Clark School of Engineering Co-op & Career Services office assists students in finding cooperative education, internship, summer and part-time engineering positions. Students participating in these programs gain professional experience, integrate theory into practice and confirm career choices while helping finance their education. These programs are also beneficial for employers, who gain access to an energetic workforce and become more visible on campus.

Counseling Center (Shoemaker Building)
The Counseling Center offers students support on various academic and personal matters free of charge. Information on all services is available at http://www.health.umd.edu/.
The Counseling Center provides counselors to discuss concerns you may have related to your personal and social well being. Among the topics many students discuss are self-esteem, stress, relationship and sexual issues, family problems and loneliness. - Career/Vocational Counseling Services
It is important to identify who you are in relation to a future career. All students at the University of Maryland can get help with this process at the Counseling Center in individual career counseling. - Learning Assistance Services
The Counseling Center offers help to students who are having difficulties in their academic program. Education specialists can provide assistance on writing skills, time management, English conversation, learning styles and math management. For more information, call 301-314-7693.
- Returning Students Program
More mature students and students who have returned to school after a long absence may have needs not easily addressed by other services on campus. Programs for returning students include workshops, classes, publications, and one-to-one counseling to help ease the adjustment to college life. For more information, call 301-314-7693.
- Disability Support Services
The Counseling Center offers a range of services for students with disabilities, including interpreters for hearing impaired students, readers for visually impaired students, special examination arrangements for students with learning disabilities, and assistance with access to various buildings and facilities on campus. Student Financial Aid office (1135 Lee Building)
The Financial aid office at the University of Maryland provides counseling and other financial services to students. Students can obtain information about loans, scholarships and work-study opportunities to assist them in financing their college education. Health Center
The University of Maryland's Health Center is a fully accredited clinic offering a wide array of services for students, including urgent care, a walk-in clinic, diagnostic services, pharmaceutical services, health education, sexual assault peer education program, substance abuse assistance, counseling on depression, sexual health education, smoking cessation and a variety of other programs. The University of Maryland's Career Center offers assistance to students who wish to explore different careers. It offers job listings and resume services, helps students to choose majors, provides information about graduate schools and organizes career planning workshops for students and alumni. Working very closely with the A. James Clark School of Engineering Cooperative and Career services, the Career Center is an additional resource for EE students throughout their tenure as undergraduates. Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education (1101 Hornbake Library)
The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education (OMSE) provides opportunities and challenges that help multi-ethnic students excel at the University of Maryland. Tutoring
Eta Kappa Nu, the Electrical Engineering Honor Society, provides free tutoring during the fall and spring semesters in every required undergraduate EE course. For more information, contact staff in the ECE Undergraduate Office (301-405-3685, 2429 A.V. Williams Building) or in the ECE Undergraduate Lounge (Engineering Classroom Building, room 0107).
