Edward Vogel

Major: Bioengineering

Being a Clark School Ambassador, I have had the unique opportunity, as an undergraduate, to interact with prospective students and tell them about all the great opportunities in engineering at the University of Maryland.  Through a wide range of events and activities, I could show them not only the great things the Clark School has to offer, but the engineering field as a whole.  There is no better feeling than walking around campus and seeing a student, who you talked to at an open house, enrolled here.  You may have had an impact on a huge decision in that person's life!
-Eddie Vogel, Class of 2011

With some 4500 students, 200 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and facilities in more than 14 buildings on the College Park campus of the University of Maryland, the A. James Clark School of Engineering can seem overwhelming at first, whether you're a student, faculty member, returning alumnus or alumna, or colleague from business or government.

But while there certainly is a large contingent of engineers here, and an incredible array of opportunities for lab and classroom work, it is not difficult to break these components down into more manageable groups, and make the school easier to access and navigate. To begin this process, try these:

  • Meet Dean Darryll Pines
  • Clark School Administration
The school's administration can help explain the school's activities and organization and point you toward additional resources and people who can help you find what you need.
