Ming-Teh Hsu (Ph.D. '74, nuclear engineering) received a Special Contribution Award from the president of Tsing-Hua University for his assistance with a fundraising campaign there.

He is president of American Society of Civil Engineers Maryland section and was named Associate of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies Maryland.

David L. Vanhoy (M.S. '88, aerospace engineering) has received the 2012 Kelly Johnson Award for excellence and outstanding achievement in flight test engineering from the Society of Flight Test Engineers. He is technical director for the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School.

Mounya Elhilali (M.S. '03 and Ph.D. '04, electrical engineering) has been named an Office of Naval Research Young Investigator for her work in neuroscience. She is an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University.

Allen G. Lim (B.S. '84, mechanical engineering) is the 2012 Asian American Engineer of the Year, as named by the Chinese Institute of Engineers -- USA.

Michelle Lynne Mazurek (B.S. '04, electrical engineering) has received a Facebook Fellowship for her work in creating effective and secure forms of content sharing. She is a doctoral student at Carnegie Mellon University.

Peter H. Michael (B.S. '66, electrical engineering) has published Remembering John Hanson, a biography of the first president under the Articles of Confederation.

Daniel Pino (B.S. '82, civil engineering) was named director of engineering at Axiom Engineering and Design in Columbia, Md.

Adam Reese (B.S. '08, aerospace engineering) received a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio State University and completed GE Aviation's Advanced Course in Engineering program.

John Tighe (B.S. '82, civil engineering) was appointed president and CEO of ZipLine Medical, a medical device company in Campbell, Calif.

James Buchanan (M.S. '73, electrical engineering) has retired from Northrop Grumman after more than 45 years with the company. He received their Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Engineering in 2004.

Shohel Chowdhury (M.S. '11, telecommunications) is a radio frequency engineer with AT&T Mobility in Raleigh, N.C.

Tolga Girici (Ph.D. '07, electrical engineering) is an assistant professor at Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği University of Economics and Technology in Anakara, Turkey.

Stephen D. Hogan (B.S. '85, mechanical engineering) is the new vice president of Northrop Grumman's F/A 18 program in Bethpage, NY.

Christopher T. Jones (Ph.D. '97, aerospace engineering) has been named a Black Engineer of the Year for his career achievements. He is a vice president at Northrop Grumman.

Richard L. Moore (B.S. '84, engineering) was promoted to chief scientific officer at OpGen, Inc., a genome analysis company in Gaithersburg, Md.

Wahid Nawabi (B.S. '92, electrical engineering) has been named senior vice president and general manager of efficient energy systems at AeroVironment in Monrovia, Calif.
