Rama Chellappa
Colleagues note that Professor Rama Chellappa (electrical and computer engineering) has been instrumental in developing a series of courses on image processing and computer vision that did not exist before he joined the Clark School. Students remark on his infectious enthusiasm toward learning and research, his ability to effectively impart knowledge and his dedication to teaching students to learn more material independently. Dr. Chellappa has trained and graduated more than 60 Ph.D. students. He has been an instructor in the Gemstone program since 2006 and assisted with the Clark School's Future Faculty Program. He has already been honored with the University Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Award, Gemstone Faculty Mentor Award and as an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer.
