Chevron is recruiting Engineers with an emphasis in Reliability.

Reliability is recognized as a key to Operational Excellence and the Reliability Engineers at our Refineries assist business units in identifying and solving equipment issues as they relate to our People, Processes and Equipment Reliability Strategy.

Chevron is looking for individuals with:

•GPA – 3.0 or above
•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required (Master’s preferred).
•Strong academic performance in core programs, demonstrated skills in communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving.
•Knowledge of Reliability processes, use of analytical tools, ability to lead/facilitate reliability improvement efforts.
•Flexible location preferences, as there are many opportunities to work in different locations, both domestic and international (note that normally, international assignments become available as one’s career progresses beyond the initial few years).

Reliability Engineers will work collaboratively across multiple levels of the organization, and with multi-discipline teams, within a given area of the refinery. The position will provide Reliability expertise to area business units to identify needs, prioritize, improve, and/or train business unit individuals and teams in their efforts to utilize Reliability tools and processes. Strong preference will be given to candidates with oil and gas industry experience.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

•Facilitate / participate in Reliability Availability and Maintainability (RAM) modeling and Life Cycle Costing for Chevron projects in a given area of the refinery.
•Educate business units and project teams on Reliability processes and benefits. Identify gaps in understanding of tools and processes and provide consultation to business units and asset teams in their use of tools. Provide instruction and assistance on the use of Reliability tools, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Reliability Availability Maintainability modeling, Weibull Analysis and/or Life Cycle Cost analysis.
•Facilitate / participate in use of Reliability tools, such as FMEA, RCA, and RCM, aimed at identifying improvement needs, prioritization of those needs, and determination of recommendations to improve asset utilization and production efficiency.
•Consult with business units to determine needs, provide direction, and assist as required.
•Lead/facilitate value improving practices for capital projects.
•Serve as a liaison between the Refinery and the Global Manufacturing Reliability Center of Excellence in matters involving standardization of Reliability tools and processes across the refining system.
