Through the National Nuclear Security Administration's Graduate Program, fellows work on programs designed to counter nuclear proliferation and maintain nuclear security.

This 12-month, full-time, salaried fellowship program provides participants with specialized training and practical experience on projects and initiatives that contribute to a safer world. In addition to gaining valuable experience working with federal government programs, participants have opportunities to collaborate with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), as well as other government agencies, national laboratories, and non-governmental organizations.

Program Highlights

The NNSA Graduate Program combines the two previous NNSA post-graduate programs – the Nonproliferation Graduate Fellowship Program and the Future Leaders Program – into one dynamic opportunity for recent and enrolled graduates. Key elements of the program for the Class of 2014 are:

Applicants must be at the master’s or Ph.D. level – either enrolled or graduated by October 21, 2012 or after; with a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Positions are full time for one year, from June 2014 through June 2015.

Assignments are available across the NNSA enterprise. Many placements are in Washington, D.C.; some are at other NNSA sites across the country.

The range of positions requires a variety of skills, including technical, policy, and business.

US Citizenship is required.
