Free Advice from Entrepreneurial Experts

UM faculty and students will have the opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs, investors and new venture experts at this year's Technology Start-Up Boot Camp, sponsored by the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (MTECH).

The Technology Start-Up Boot Camp is an intensive, one-day workshop and networking event about launching new ventures, to be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union on Oct. 21, 2005, beginning at 8 a.m. (directions).

Speakers include Scott Magids, MTECH Ventures director; Phil Weilerstein, executive director of the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance; Clark School Dean Nariman Farvardin; and Jacques Gansler, UM vice president for research.

Representatives from the UM VentureAccelerator Program, the Maryland Technology Development Corporation and leaders from the regional entrepreneurial community will be on hand and taking part in the various panels throughout the day.

The event is free to all attendees with a local university affiliation. The cost for non-academic attendees is $75.
