Faculty Promotions Announced

The following Clark School professors have been promoted with tenure:

  • Ahmet H. Aydilek, civil and environmental engineering, promoted to associate professor with tenure effective August 17. Aydilek’s research interests are in geotechnical, geoenvironmental and geosynthetics engineering.
  • Ilias Balaras, mechanical engineering, promoted to associate professor with tenure effective July 1. Balaras studies computational fluid dynamics, biomedical fluid flows, turbulence and transition and fluid-structure interactions.
  • Richard J. La, electrical and computer engineering, promoted to associate professor with tenure effective July 1. La's research interests are in Internet congestion control, resource allocations in wireless networks, network performance modeling and application of game theory.
  • Andre W. Marshall, fire protection engineering, promoted to associate professor with tenure effective August 23. Marshall’s research focuses on the characterization of turbulent flow transport in fires and flames using laser diagnostics, infrared imaging and advanced multi-phase CFD models.
  • Srinivasa R. Raghavan, chemical & biomolecular engineering, promoted to associate professor with tenure effective August 23. Raghavan studies complex fluids, polymeric and bimolecular self-assembly, and soft nanostructures.
