Liu, Moglen Selected for UM Teaching Academy

The University of Maryland has selected two Clark School faculty members to be Fellows in its Academy for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (AETL) effective in the Fall 2007 semester: Civil engineering Associate Professor Glenn Moglen, an associate research scientist in the National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education; and Professor K.J. Ray Liu, associate chair for graduate studies and research in electrical and computer engineering (ECE) with a joint appointment in the Institute for Systems Research (ISR).

AETL was created in November 2000 by a faculty-led initiative to build a community of scholars committed to fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning. The group serves as an advisory body to the provost and the campus leadership on a broad range of issues pertaining to teaching and learning, promoting scholarly dialogues, innovative projects, and educational excellence and scholarship. Liu and Moglen join a group of 33 AETL Fellows, including Professor Anthony Ephremides (ECE/ISR).

For more information, visit the AETL web site.
