MechE Students Dominate TI Contest

Jonathan Chung, a mechanical engineering student from the Clark School, has won the Texas Instruments (TI) Vision for Voice contest. In the contest, TI asked people across the country for ideas about the future of voice technology. TI is a Clark School Corporate Partner and Electrical and Computer Engineering Corporate Affiliate.

Chung's entry, "Visualizing the Translation," focused on the development of a unique pair of glasses that could display a translated foreign language in the lens. He has won a 56" HDTV and home theater system.

Two of the three runner-up winners are also Clark School mechanical engineering students, including Josh Kusnick for his "Voice Robot" entry and Sidney Ngochi for "Smart House." They each receive "Slacker" portable Internet radio players, developed with TI's OMAP technology.
