Greenhorne & O'Mara Pilots Intern Program

Maryland-based engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O’Mara (G&O) employed Clark School students Emily Anderson, Adam Leith, Jared McGrath, and David Miller in a new summer internship program this past summer. The students were also awarded an A. James O’Mara scholarship in the amount of $3,000 each to support their civil engineering program studies for the 2008-2009 school year.

The students all agreed that their experiences at G&O were invaluable. All received hands-on experience in their specific service area, and learned that effective communication is a key to success.

“We were thrilled to have such a great group of interns in our scholarship program this summer," said Pete Quinn, senior vice president of corporate development for Greenhorne & O'Mara. "It’s truly been a 'win –win' experience for G&O."

This was the first year of G&O’s new internship/scholarship program in conjunction with the Clark School. It benefits students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The internship/scholarship program was established in honor of G&O co-founder A. James O’Mara, P.E., who passed away in November 2007.

Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O) is a full-service engineering consulting firm that provides solutions in the areas of general civil, transportation, environmental, water resources, and hazard mitigation and security services to clients in the public and private sectors.
