England to Speak at Commencement

Gordon England '61

Gordon England '61

Gordon England, B.S. '61, electrical engineering, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense, will give the commencement address at the Clark School's graduation ceremony on December 21 in Cole Field House at 1 p.m.

The student speaker will be Dagem Mengeste, a mechanical engineering major.

The Clark School will present Prof. K. J. Ray Liu with the Outstanding Faculty Research Award, as well as announce the winners of the E. Robert Kent Outstanding Teaching Award for Junior Faculty and the Staff Service Award.

John C. Mather - a Nobel Prize winner and adjunct professor of physics - will be the featured commencement speaker at the University of Maryland ceremony on December 20. The ceremony - to be held at the Comcast Center on campus - begins at 7 p.m.
