New L-3 Scholarship/Fellowship Winners Announced

Clark School Corporate Partner Company L-3 Communications has selected its 2011-2012 class of graduate fellowship and undergraduate scholarship recipients. The awards are part of a $1 million gift to the Clark School by L-3 Communications last year.

The 2011-2012 L-3 Graduate Fellows are:

  • Ryan Robinson, aerospace engineering
  • Gregory Gremillion, aerospace engineering
  • Keith Gregorczyk, materials science and engineering
  • Jessica Sheehan, mechanical engineering
  • Nicholas Willard, mechanical engineering

L-3 Graduate Research Fellowships annually support five Ph.D. candidates in the last three years of a Clark School Ph.D. who conduct research at either the Institute for Systems Research, the Maryland Robotics Center, the UM Energy Research Center, the Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles Laboratory, the UM Rotorcraft Center, the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering or research in cybersecurity. The company seeks to increase awareness of itself among Clark School students and thus encourage recruitment.

The 2011-2012 L-3 Undergraduate Scholars are:

  • Elena Shrestha, aerospace engineering
  • Laura Miles, aerospace engineering
  • Matt Rich, aerospace engineering
  • Rebecca Bair, electrical and computer engineering
  • John Garvey, electrical and computer engineering
  • Saara Khan, electrical and computer engineering
  • Alex Sposoti, materials science and engineering
  • Jillian Buchheim, mechanical engineering
  • Andrew Sabelhaus, mechanical engineering

The L-3 Corporate Partner Scholars are:

  • Harrison Chau, aerospace engineering
  • Li Peng Liang, aerospace engineering
  • Prateek Kukreja, electrical and computer engineering
  • Ben Flom, electrical and computer engineering
  • Elizabeth Sauerbrunn, mechanical engineering

Undergraduate Scholars receive $4,150 in support and Corporate Partner Scholars receive $1,000.
