BAE Systems Contributes $600,000 to Help Sponsor Kim Engineering Building

BAE Systems North America, one of the country’s foremost national security, aerospace and information systems companies and a leading provider of electronic and information-based systems and knowledge-based solutions, has agreed to contribute $600,000 over the next five years as a sponsor of the Kim Engineering Building now nearing completion at the Clark School.

"The Clark School is future-focused," said Robert T. Murphy, president of BAE Systems Technology Solutions Sector. "More so than at many schools, their students and faculty are developing the technologies that will be important next year and five years from now. That’s why BAE Systems has decided to support the Kim Building, where so much exciting work will take place."

Mr. Murphy stated further that while his company has enjoyed a long and close involvement with the University of Maryland, and the Clark School, he anticipates that the future will lead to even more extensive research relationships with faculty, active sponsorship of technical conferences and presentations, and continued strong recruitment of students as employees. "BAE Systems is pleased to be a part of the relentless forward motion evident throughout the Clark School," Mr. Murphy concluded. "The Kim Building, with its state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary labs, will only accelerate that progress."
