(1) A capacitor is formed by two coaxial cylinders of radius a and b. The axes of the cylinders are vertical and the inner cylinder is suspended from a balance so that it hangs only partially within the outer cylinder. Find an expression for the mass that must be added to the other side of the balance to maintain equilibrium when a voltage V is connected between the cylinders.
